This is the first of three fairy tales in the collection of Russian folk tales. It's called "Vasilisa the Beautiful".

As it often happens, the tale begins with Vasilisa's mother dying and her father marrying an evil stepmother.
The stepmother sends Vasilisa to the evil Baba Yaga with a task.

Vasilisa does hard work at Baba Yaga's house.

Fortunately, Vasilisa was helped by the blessing of her mother, the doll.

Vasilisa copes with all the work assigned to her by Baba Yaga, and she helps Vasilisa and lets her go home. On her way home she meets three horsemen: white, red and black - they are Morning, Day and Night.

But the story ends happily. Vasilisa finds her love and gets rid of the oppression of her evil stepmother.
